Chicago-based startup raised $50 million to produce a celebrities shoutout app

Have you ever wanted to send your friend a shoutout for Beyonce or your favorite Chicago Cubs player? Now you can.  

Cameo, the Chicago-based startup that lets users buy personalized video shoutouts from celebrities, raised $50 million to help fuel an international expansion and further develop its app.

Most of Cameo’s shoutouts are booked through its website, said CEO and co-founder Steven Galanis. The startup has been building its product development team and working toward relaunching the app.
